Endlich Regen: Es regnet stark. Der kleine Igel freut sich, denn nun kann er endlich seinen neuen gepunkteten, glitzernden Schirm und die leuchtendgelbe Regengarnitur gebrauchen. Ganz begeistert watet er durch die grösste Pfütze und lauscht dem Regen, der auf seinen Schirm trommelt. Da trifft er auf den kleinen, klatschnassen Maulwurf. Mitleidig reicht er ihm seinen Schirm. Doch plötzlich erfasst den kleinen Maulwurf eine Windböe und hebt ihn samt Schirm in die Höhe. Gerade rechtzeitig kann ihn der kleine Igel an der Hinterpfote festhalten und retten. Ein neuer Windstoss wirbelt nun beide durch die Luft, und schliesslich landen sie im Wasser. Nun dient der Regenschirm als Boot, und so gelangen die beiden durchnässten Freunde an Land, doch nicht ohne vorher noch eine ganze Mäusefamilie vor dem Ertrinken zu retten. Schliesslich können sich alle in der Dachshöhle bei einer Tasse Kakao erholen.
